Welcome to Hemkit! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services for renting household items in Stockholm. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Our Services

Hemkit provides a rental service for household items including furniture, kitchenware, bedding, and other home essentials. Our goal is to make temporary living in Stockholm more sustainable and affordable by offering quality rental alternatives to purchasing new items.

2. User Eligibility

To use our services, you must:

  • Be at least 15 years old
  • Have a valid Swedish address for delivery and pickup
  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Be legally capable of entering into contracts

3. Account Registration

You need to have access to an email account to access our service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Rental Terms

Rental Period

  • Minimum rental period: 1 month
  • Maximum rental period: 12 months (may be extended by agreement)
  • Rental periods are calculated from the delivery date

Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are quoted per month
  • Payment is required upfront for the first month
  • Subsequent payments are charged monthly in advance
  • Late payments may result in service suspension

5. Item Care and Responsibility

Your Responsibilities

  • Use items only for their intended purpose
  • Keep items clean and in good condition
  • Report any damage or malfunction immediately
  • Return items in the same condition as received (normal wear excepted)

Prohibited Uses

  • Commercial use without written permission
  • Subletting or transferring items to third parties
  • Using items in a way that causes excessive damage
  • Modifying or altering items without approval

6. Damages and Liability

Damage Assessment

Upon return, items are inspected for damage:

  • Normal wear: Covered by us (fading, minor scratches)
  • Excessive damage: Repair or replacement costs charged to you
  • Missing items: Full replacement value charged

Liability Limitations

  • Our liability is limited to the value of the rented items
  • We are not liable for consequential damages or losses
  • You are responsible for items from delivery until pickup

7. Cancellation and Termination

Cancellation by You

  • Cancellation before delivery: Full refund minus processing fee (250 SEK)
  • Cancellation after delivery: No refund for current month
  • Early termination: No refund for unused portion

Termination by Us

  • We may terminate service for violation of these terms
  • Non-payment or excessive damage may result in immediate termination
  • You will be responsible for return shipping costs

8. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by Hemkit or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

10. Disclaimers

  • Items are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Colors and specifications may vary slightly from images
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sweden. We encourage amicable resolution before pursuing legal action.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or website notice. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
